Report a problem

Report your off-campus e-access problem by submitting a question to Ask a Librarian.

When you see this fault message screen, see solutions below to off-campus login failures

You might have used the wrong SU campus username or -password.

Make sure that you log on with your SU campus network username (also called 'network credentials' e.g. 12345678 or johndoe) and NOT with your SU email username e.g. 1234567@sun.ac.za.

Your password might had expired or it is not synchronised for all SU security information systems.

Click here to change and synchronised your new password. Once that is done, you should have access to the library's e-resources using your new password.

If you could not change your password yourself.

  • Email IT Help (include your student number) or contact: +27 021 808 4367 (office hours 8:00-16:30) to provide you with a new SU network password. Once that is done, you should have access to the library's e-resources using your new password.
  • University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB) students mail to bpcict@belpark.sun.ac.za (include your student number) or contact: +27 021 808 4247 to provide you with a new SU network password. Once that is done, you should have access to the library's e-resources using your new password.

You could successfully login at the 'E-resources Off-campus access' screen but could not login, when prompted, to view a full text article.

If prompted to log into any other screen, this means we either do not have access to that specific e-resource or the resource is not authenticated for off-campus e-access. Report your problem via Ask a Librarian and include a screenshot.

Important: For security reasons it is necessary to change your password at www.sun.ac.za/useradm every 90 days otherwise your off-campus electronic access will automatically expire after 90 days, see Tips for changing your password.
