LAW REPORTS BEFORE 1947

Law reports before 1947 were reported according to the divisions of the court.

Many reports were published privately and are known by the person who reported the cases i.e. Watermeyer, Searle, Foord, Menzies, Buchanan. Electronic copies of these cases are available on the LEXISNEXIS Butterworths database.

PRENTICE HALL WEEKLY LEGAL SERVICE (now ALL SA LAW REPORTS)

Available online on LexisNexis (see under Cases)

Published weekly ( 1923+). Judgments are brief and classified in different subjects.

The series has an index and a list to statutes judicially considered. Cases are numbered i.e. J28  The series is abbreviated as  P.H.

High Court cases are published in SOUTH AFRICAN LAW REPORTS (JUTA) and  ALL SOUTH AFRICAN LAW REPORTS (LEXISNEXIS Butterworths) (XC ALL).
