Web Browser Downloads

Whether you are using a Windows computer, Apple device or you are running a Linux operator, you need to have a web browser that is compatible with your computer.

Sometimes the database or e-book you are trying to access from home requires that you use a specific web browser associated with the operating system of your computer. When you have a selected a resource and the page keeps on reloading, try another web browser. More often than not most of these resources do not recommend the use of Internet Explorer.

Here are some of the more often used web browsers and links to their downloads:

Web to change the settings of a proxy network to which you're currently connected:

Proxy settings allow an intermediary to come between your web browser and another computer, called a server. A proxy is a computer system or program which acts as a kind of middle-man. If you are off-campus, work at a state or government entity (including public schools), a business or apartment compex which utilizes a proxy server to manage internet traffic, you will be unable to access the databases from your work place because of conflicts between the proxy servers at the Library and your work place.

You can usually find the database information that you need by disabling the proxy server. See: How to remove proxy settings in your browser.
