Course Reading Lists: Interact with your reading list

This guide is designed to help you understand and navigate your course reading lists.

Mark a citation as done/read

To keep track of your progress with reading, you can Mark as done/read a citation by clicking on the checkmark icon to the right of a citation title.

Mark as unread by clicking on the checkmark again.

Be part of the student discussion

If enabled by your course/module facilitator, you will see a Student Discussion area in the right pane of the reading list view and on each citation when you click on a citation title. Take part in the discussion by adding your comments and questions here.

Notes and tags

Be on the lookout for:

  • tags such as Recommended, Essential and Optional your facilitator has marked citations with, and
  • notes your facilitator have left your for a specific citation.

Report a broken link

To report a broken link, click on that citation title, and on the citation page, next to the link which is broken, click Mark as broken. The Library/facilitator will fix the broken link asap in order to restore your and others' access to the resource.

Filter your list

Sort and filter your reading list according to:

  • reading list section
  • tags e.g. Essential, Recommended, Optional
  • material types
  • Other such as Has due date, Likes, Marked as done, Not marked as read

Like a citation

If you have enjoyed a reading, click on that citation title, and on the citation page, hit the Like button (top right of page).

Back in your reading list view, you will see the citation has a little heart next to it.

View upcoming due dates

If your course/module facilitator has applied due dates to the citations on your reading list, these citations with their due dates will appear in the your "Upcoming Due Dates" list. 

Add your own private notes

You can add a Private note to a citation to serve as reminder for yourself. To do so, click on the citation title and on the citation page, scroll down to the Private note section.

These private notes are only visible to you.

Search to find a specific topic/title in your reading list.
