Course Reading Lists: Apply SUNLearn features to your reading list

This guide is designed to help you understand and navigate your course reading lists.

Apply SUNLearn features to your reading list

If you so wish, you may apply any of the following SUNLearn features to your embedded reading lists in SUNLearn.

1. Activity tracking

Activity tracking allows the facilitator to set completion criteria in a specific activity's settings. A check (tick) appears against the activity e.g. a reading list when the student meets this criterion. The criterion might be viewing or a student marking a reading list as complete. Read more

You can set up completion tracking for your course reading list so that the reading list first needs to be read / mark completed before assignments are accessed.

2.  Course completion

Course completion can show if a reading list has been completed. It can show the progress a student is making towards finishing the reading list according to specific criteria. Read more

3. Badges

Badges are a good way of celebrating achievement and showing progress, for a reading list also. Badges may be awarded based on a variety of chosen criteria and may be displayed on a user's profile. Read more

4. Stash

The stash block is a good way to encourage more interaction with activities such as reading lists, and is invaluable for instructors looking to gamify their course. Read more

5. Competencies

Competencies describe the level of understanding or proficiency of a student in certain subject-related skills. Competency-based education refers to systems of assessment and grading where students demonstrate these competencies. Reading / completing the reading list can be one of them. Read more
