Open access publishing: IOP

IOP Science

This is a three-year agreement (2023-2025) where read access is provided to over 70 scholarly journals. Eligible authors can publish open access in IOP’s hybrid and gold open access journals without paying APCs. Note that a small number of society journals levy page charges.

A guide to submitting under an IOP transformative agreement

What is included in this agreement?

  • Articles accepted will be eligible for transformative agreement funding to enable authors to publish open access with no cost to themselves
  • Research paper, special issue, letter and review article types
  • Included journals are those in lists A, B, and D. Click here for a full title list of eligible journals.

Please note

A small number of journals attract additional charges including but not limited to, page charges. These remain payable by the authors.
