EndNote: Installing EndNote 25

EndNote is widely regarded as one of the world's best reference managers. It helps you save time, stay organised, collaborate with colleagues and to get published.

Installing EndNote 25 Windows

1. Visit the SU Software HUB by clicking here and sign in using your SU credentials.

2. Open the EndNote 25 folder and select the Windows folder:

 

3. Click on EN25Inst.zip file to download:

 

4. Find the Download button for your browser (Top left corner in most browsers):

 

 

5. Once it has downloaded, go to your Downloads folder and unzip the compressed file:

 

 

6. Choose the destination folder for the extracted files. You can use the default suggested destination.

7. Double click on the EN25Inst file:

NB!! Make sure that MS Word and Outlook are closed when you begin to install EndNote.

 

 

8. If you receive a warning that states Windows protected your PC, click on More info and then on Run Anyway

 

 

9. Once the installer launches, follow the prompts. If you wish, read through the Terms and Conditions and then accept the License Agreement.

10. Select Typical when prompted to select Installation Type.

11. Choose the destination folder for the installation.

12. Once the installation starts and you get asked: "Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device?", click on Yes.

13. Once installed and you have clicked on Finish, click on the Windows icon on the bottom-left corner of the screen and search for EndNote:

 

 

14. Right-click on the EndNote App and click on Pin to Taskbar. This will give you a shortcut on the taskbar:

 

 

15. Very NB!! Once you launch EndNote for the first time, you will be prompted to create a new library. This library and associated .data folder MUST be saved on your computer and not in the cloud. It can be synced afterwards, but it is imperative that it be stored on your hard drive first.
