EndNote 21 : Installing different styles

EndNote is widely regarded as one of the world's best reference managers. It helps you save time, stay organised, collaborate with colleagues and to get published.

Installing different styles

1. In EndNote, click on the Tools tab, hover your mouse over Output Styles and select Open Style Manager:

2. In the Style Manager you will find numerous available styles that you can add to your style library by ticking the box next to their names:

3. However, you may be expected to use a style that is not included in this list, so then you need to click on Get More on the Web:

4. Here you can search for the appropriate style, or for a journal's specific style:

5. Once you have downloaded the appropriate style, you need to add it to EndNote by double clicking on the saved file:

6. It will automatically be added to the EndNote Style Manager and it will also open the style's settings:

7. From here, you need to click on File>Save As to save the style:

You can remove the word "Copy" from the Style name, as it isn't needed.

8. Make sure that the checkbox next to the downloaded style is checked, so it is also visible in your style library.

It should be noted that not all journals have an EndNote style. However, you are welcome to contact us if you would like to have a style customised for a journal you are planning to submit to.
