Migrating from RefWorks to Mendeley: Mendeley @ SU

Moving your references form RefWorks to Mendeley

Issues with Mendeley Reference Manager

Issues with Mendeley Reference Manager

The new Mendeley Reference Manager program has a number of issues with working with Microsoft Word.  There are numerous complaints about Mendeley Reference Manager and the Mendeley Cite add-in in the Microsoft AppSource store and clients have experienced serious issues with the add-in.

It is not recommended that users install Mendeley Reference Manager at this time. We strongly recommend that clients use the original Mendeley Desktop software instead. You can download it here.

If you have any trouble installing the original version on your macOS device or if you need to migrate from Mendeley Reference Manager to Mendeley Desktop, please contact Kirchner van Deventer or Letlao Seloma to assist you.

For clients at Tygerberg Campus, please contact Yusuf Ras for assistance

Introduction to Mendeley

Mendeley @ SU

Mendeley @ SU

Mendeley is a reference management tool that enables you to manage citations and PDFs using a desktop client or through your account on Mendeley web. Mendeley also includes plug-ins for Word or OpenOffice, so you can easily create citations and/or bibliographies as you write. It also allows you to organise your research, collaborate with others online, and discover the latest research.
